Kemar Kardino “Monster Medz” Black is the visionary creator and founder of Mimic Mi Keys, an innovative AI-powered music creation platform developed from an idea he began refining in 2013. After years of research, development, testing, and perfecting the concept, Kemar worked alongside his father, Winston Black, and skilled developer Alla to transform the dream of Mimic Mi Keys into a reality.
The purpose of Mimic Mi Keys is to empower music lovers who have creative ideas but may not know how to play an instrument or have experience in music production, recording, or engineering. Through advanced artificial intelligence, users can hum melodies, beatbox rhythms, or simply speak their musical ideas into the app. The AI then analyzes and transforms those ideas into professionally crafted instrument sounds and musical compositions, making music creation accessible to everyone.
With more than 25 years of experience in the music industry, Kemar Black brings a unique perspective as a recording artist, producer, studio engineer, talent manager, and record label owner. Throughout his career, he has founded and operated several music companies, including Monster Imperial Inc. and Diamond Mind Studios (2008), Gyallis Nation Records (2013), Maydday DC Music Group (2019), and has worked extensively with JR Production from 2022 to 2026.
Kemar has engineered, produced, and written music for numerous artists, including Grammy Award-winning artist Junior Reid, while working under JR Production. His extensive portfolio also includes collaborations with The Mighty Diamonds, Chronixx, Fyah Torch, Humble Vybz, Dream Island, Zizi, Maydday DC, and many other talented performers.
Having experienced the industry from every angle—as an artist, producer, engineer, manager, and entrepreneur—Kemar understands the challenges musicians face and the tools they need to succeed. This firsthand knowledge inspired the creation of Mimic Mi Keys, a platform designed to remove barriers to music creation and unlock creative potential for aspiring artists worldwide.

Winston Joseph Black

My name is Winston Joseph Black, and to explain my role in the creation of the Mimic Mi Keys app, I have to go back to where my love for music began.
From a young age, I realized that I was blessed with talents in several areas. Art and craft, music, and creativity came naturally to me. However, due to shyness and youthful mischief, I never fully pursued music as a career. Instead, I focused more on art while keeping my musical passion alive within myself.
Even though I wasn't actively involved in the music industry, I always had a strong ear for good music. I could often recognize a hit song before anyone else. In fact, I was one of the first people to tell my recording artist cousin, Super Blacks, that several of his songs would become hits long before they gained popularity.
As life went on, I watched my son, Key, inherit many of the talents I possessed—and then take them even further. His accomplishments in music and the arts have surpassed anything I could have imagined. Seeing his creativity flourish has been one of the greatest joys of my life.
Then came my grandson, Ke'manuel, whose birth brought a new sense of purpose and inspiration to our family. Throughout the years, I never stopped experimenting with music. I would occasionally write songs, create rhythms in my mind, or vocalize beats and melodies. I would often share these ideas with my son, who would offer his professional insight and help develop them further.
As I spent time with my grandson, I noticed something special. Whenever he heard the sounds and rhythms I was making, he would naturally mimic them. Watching him imitate these musical patterns sparked an idea. I asked my son if we could create an app that would allow children to mimic sounds and transform them into real musical instruments and creative musical experiences.
That simple observation became the foundation of Mimic Mi Keys.
Today, Mimic Mi Keys represents more than just an app. It is the result of three generations of creativity, imagination, and a shared love for music. It combines my lifelong passion for rhythm, my son's artistic and musical expertise, and the natural curiosity and inspiration brought to us by my grandson, Ke'manuel.
Together, they inspired the vision that made Mimic Mi Keys a reality.
